In 2013, the Tribeca Film Festival began accepting transmedia projects under their Experiential Work award.
TRIBECA: EXPERIENTIAL WORK AWARD
Tribeca exhibits experiential work throughout the festival to showcase new forms and uses of media, highlighting innovation across a variety of platforms. These may range from virtual reality projects to cross-platform films, websites, multi-media installations, games and apps. Submissions will be considered for the Tribeca Storyscapes section; and the Virtual Arcade (for mobile and tethered VR projects).
Works may include but are not limited to virtual reality projects, augmented reality projects, web projects, mobile apps, games, multi-media installations and multi-platform works, but in any event, projects must have some sort of interactive element. Linear films will not be accepted.
- Submissions to the festival generally open in September
- Submission Deadlines are generally in mid-December
- The festival is held in April in New York City
